Neon Neon's retro-futurist ode to the life of auto mogul John DeLorean has been nominated for a Mercury Prize for 2008's best album.  I'm also pleased that Burial's Untrue was also included in the list.

I saw this at the Alamo Draft House a few months ago.  Watched it again last night and its as good as I remembered.  Apparently, very popular at the Dublin Film Festival and opened Sundance.  

I liked the poster better than any trailers I found.

Upstairs at Eric's has one of my favorite Album covers.  It just reminds me so much of the "new wave" / "dark dance" era that our older sisters hipped us to.  Stark, minimal, dehumanized and cold; Just like the electronics that provide contrast to Alison Moyet's warm vocal.

Mmmm.  Just got back from Smoque barbeque on Pulaski and Irving.  Had the chopped brisket sandwich, macaroni and cheese, and cobbler.  Delicious.  Super friendly too.
