MCC.gov distributes information about the progress of international aid projects. This helps keep MCC's activities and budgets accountable to the American people. Fixing bugs and keeping the website maintained was an important part of my role as Web Programmer for the public website. Adding features like an interactive GIS map showing the amount of money contracts in each state were awarded provided a tool for public affairs leaders to demonstrate the agency's value to representatives of each state. Integrating website forms into our Salesforce customer relationship management software helped maximize the value of the agency's investment in the platform. Delivering and maintaining data visualization charts using Highcharts to report on our partner country selection process was another key responsibility.

Healthy Kids and Families Network
The Healthy Kids & Families website created an online forum for people to access information about enrolling children in AllKids, Illinois' public health insurance program for uninsured children. It supported community-led efforts to increase enrollment and retention of uninsured children in the Medicaid program. The website provided a resource for organizations helping the children enroll in the program, community leaders who interact with underserved families, and families with uninsured children.

Tom Dart for Sheriff
Electing Tom Dart for Cook County Sheriff was a major field operation. The campaign website included several features that focused on getting users involved with and performing tasks for the campaign. This design included a personalized "Help Tom Win" member area and dashboard that tracked and rewarded the activities of the most motivated users. Peer to peer functions encouraged and facilitated users to invite their friends to help out and make financial contributions.

Commissioner Larry Suffredin
Commissioner Larry Suffredin is one of the key reformers fighting to reshape Cook County government. Suffredin.org is the online execution of Larry's mission to educate constituents and "shed light on" its inner workings. One of the most popular features of this site is a staff-updateable legislative library that allows constituents, community leaders, and other elected officials to view proposed legislation in its entirety before it has been voted on. This helps to harbor a transparent government style where the public can weigh in on issues while they're being shaped instead of responding to laws after they've been passed.

Alderman Burton F. Natarus
For over 25 years Alderman Burt Natarus has worked tirelessly to address the needs of one of the most complicated and bustling neighborhoods in world: Chicago's downtown. He also plays a significant role as a public policy leader, authoring much of the legislation that shapes our entire city. Natarus.com keeps us in the loop with photo essays, latest news, neighborhood and issue specific areas. Tools like a web based photo essay manager and a custom constituent communications manager make this complex site easy to maintain and keep up with. During the times when the Alderman needs a little help from his constituents, interactive issue advocacy features have helped persuade city council and local media to sit on the Natarus side of the fence regarding issues such as driving on a cell phone and smoking in public places.

The Haymarket Group website showcases the vision, work, and clients of Chicago's Premier Public Affairs firm. An optional flash movie greets new visitors with a client reel showcasing some of our best work. Behind the scenes, a robust back end data management system helps staff and clients manage various aspects of their daily work. There is even a custom phone banking web application that allows workers to canvas, fund raise, and perform data entry from anywhere they have telephone access.
